On The Road Again

We got a late start out of Happy Trails Wednesday morning and headed north to Flagstaff to pick up I-40 to Nashville. As we turned east the winds increased to 40mph plus as the violent front and storms that hit the Midwest later in the week passed us. We spent our first night in Gallup NM where the temps dropped into the low forties, quite a change from the high of ninety-eight in Surprise Monday!
The drive across the high plateau of northern New Mexico is an enjoyable trip even with the strong gusty winds.
Our destination was Albuquerque where old Illinois friends Gary and Bonnie Ramshaw have a large side yard that holds the m/h quite nicely.
We spent the evening and breakfast catching up on each others lives and recalling our Illinois days before pulling out in late morning for Amarillo, TX, where we stopped for the night and dinner at the Big Texas Steak Ranch that we have visited before. We are working our way east behind the severe weather that killed 7 in Arkansas today to Memphis where we will spend a couple of days visiting Graceland and the Memphis area.
