Sedona

We had planned to be out of Arizona as the temperatures are now in the nineties but Jeff's medical tests are taking longer than we had planned. To take a break we decided to make a day trip up to Sedona AZ to escape the heat.
RV Forum friends Betty & Terry Brewer and Russ Mahoney were leaving for the summer and decided to stop for breakfast with Don & Peg Miller in Camp Verde. Since Camp Verde is 25 miles south and on our way to Sedona we got up early and joined them and spent the morning reliving our respective winters.Sedona is located in north central Arizona at the mouth of the Oak Creek Canyon and is surrounded by red rock monoliths, a landmark of the area. Sedona is a major tourist attraction of the Southwest as well as a popular place to build vacation homes.

Another well known landmark is the chapel designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. The chapel is a must stop for a tour of the city. The city is host to a large artist population that is known for its wind sculptures as well as more traditional crafts.

Another popular stop is Tlaquepaque, a collection of shops and restaurants that was our last stop of the day before heading back to Surprise.

Jeff's angiogram showed no blockage so after a follow up appointment next week we will be headed out for the summer. Sue may be headed back to Hawaii as our granddaughter Emily is recovering from a serious accident to her hand.

It has been a great winter season and we are planning to return in late November.
