One of the couples we spent quite a bit of time with were our SIL Roger's parents from Elburn Illinois who are spending the winter in the Southwest in their fifth wheel trailer.
Our last week in Arizona got very busy saying goodbye to everyone and having a lot of dinners and attending the RV Forum Brat Party shown above. We have picked up prescriptions, food, water, had another new awning installed and are ready for Mexico. Sue also finished up a sewing project she had started while at Happy Trails, a new jacket to wear in Mexico.

After a cold, wet and windy trip across AZ, NM, and the SW corner of Texas we arrived at Presidio around 5:00PM this afternoon. Presidio is about 100 miles SE of El Paso on the Rio Grande and will be our crossing point Monday morning. The Big Bend NP is about 40 miles SE of here and if we have time we will make a quick trip down to look around as we will probably not be back this way for awhile.
When we arrived the group above was having an informal reception that we joined after setting up. (What a group, the caravan starts in four days and the party has started already!) Our fellow travelers are from all over the US and Canada including a couple of other RV full timers. It was fun meeting them and talking about the trip.
Tommorrow we cross the border to obtain travel permits and exchange dollars for pesos. I'll try to keep this up to date often for the rest of the trip.
