We have spent the past two days getting acquainted with our fellow travelers, crossing the border to finish immigration, vehicle registration, and money exchanges, and doing last minute shopping. Today is the first official day of the rally and we have a briefing from our Wagon masters this afternoon and a dinner this evening.
One of the first discoveries is that we have a really good country singer in our midst, who set the tone for our trip "Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off" and "That Train" as we have more Margarita parties scheduled than any of us have attended. Ted Lloyd is a rancher from Ontario Canada and just one more example of the diversity of the group.
We also found time for golf on the RV park course. While it wasn't the best golf we've ever played it had its moments. One of our group hit a high slice that didn't go out of bounds, it went out of the country! The berm you see is the Rio Grande and the border with Mexico.
The evening culminated with a surprise birthday for one of the group and and early bedtime.
