Happy Trails for the Winter

We left Florida Sunday morning for a flying trip across I-10 to Surprise AZ. We did manage an afternoon and evening checking out post-Katrina New Orleans including dinner in the French Quarter and a drive down St Charles Street after dark to see the Christmas lighting.
We had one rough day that ended up having the m/h towed to Freightliner San Antonio for the night to have a power steering problem resolved the next morning. Fortunately the problem was easily repaired and we were on our way by noon.As always our trip included seeing RVing friends along the way and we had lunch with Art and Jo Savoy who were fellow caravaners in Mexico last winter and whom we also met in Alaska for a couple of days. They are on their way to the Panama Canal on an 88 day Caravan leaving Texas in early January. What a trip!

We also spent a night at the Escapee Dreamcatcher RV Park in Deming New Mexico with Ned and Lorna Reiter, fellow RV Forum members who were in Indiana while Jeff was getting the motorhome painted. Lorna cooked dinner and we spent the evening catching up on the fall travels and discussing their new RV lot in Texas. We see them throughout the year and it is always great to be with part of the Forum framily.

We are renting Russ Mahoney's, a friend and fellow RV Forum member, covered RV lot in Happy Trails RV Resort at Surprise Arizona for the winter. This is the first season spent at rest and we have a great place to enjoy the next few months.
Jami and Laurie and families arrive beginning the 26th for a week so we will help them celebrate a second Christmas here in Surprise. (We also will create lots of room with all the kids' Christmas Presents gone!)
