The latest addition to the
Tradewinds is a new hardwood floor in place of the carpet up front that was showing its age. The floor was installed by
Bradd and Hall in
Elkhart Indiana near
Bremen where the paint shop was located.

After a quick trip back to Illinois to reload the refrigerator (and to pick up Sue) we drove to Port Huron, Michigan to spend a beautiful Fall weekend with Jeff's sister Dianne and her husband Larry before heading south. The foliage in Michigan was in full color and a great start to our trip to Florida.

We met fellow RV Forum members Barb and Frank
Weimert for lunch near Findlay Ohio and traveled with them to Florence Kentucky for the night. We met Sue's nephew Scott and his family for diner and spent the night in a nearby
Wal-Mart with the
Weimerts. It started raining as we approached Cincinnati and poured all night and the next day as we left the
Weimerts and traveled to the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington to have dinner with old friends Ralph and Mary
Davison.
The weather finally improved as we traveled south through Kentucky and into Tennessee to Pigeon Forge for a quick stop for shopping and a dinner show at the Black Bear Jamboree.

We left the next morning for a climb through the Smokey Mountains National Park which was also in full fall colors.

We then traveled south along the east slopes of the Smokey Mountains to Seneca South Carolina on Lake Keowee for a few days with more old friends
John and Martha Steele.

We had time there for catching up and a round of golf for John and Jeff on Friday.

On Sunday we traveled east to
Gaffney SC, home of
Freightliner Custom Chassis Corp, builder of the chassis our
motorhome rides on for service and brake repairs.

We left the m/h in
Gaffney and drove up to Raleigh, North Carolina to spend a couple of days with Bob and Mickey
Masini. Bob was a high school classmate of
Jeff's and the best man at our wedding whom we had not seen for 20 years so it was great to spend time sharing our lives over the past years.
Thursday morning saw us back on the road headed down through SC and the coast of Georgia to
Daytona Beach and dinner with old aviation friends Bob and Anne
Carnell whom we stopped and saw two years ago on our way to Florida.
Friday we finished the drive to Live Oaks RV Resort where we will spend the month of November visiting Jeff's folks. We have spent the month of November here for the past three years and really enjoy the facilities and people we meet here. It has a great swimming pool and water aerobics class Sue participates in and a 9 hole golf course for Jeff.
We will celebrate Thanksgiving here and then head for Arizona around the first of December.
