After leaving Bloomington IL we stopped Sunday afternoon to visit old Illinois friends Ralph and Mary Davison who have moved to Nicholasville KY, just south of Lexington. It was a beautiful drive through southern Indiania and northern Kentucky, leaves still out and the most color we have seen. They own a home outside of town with five acres so lots of room to park, our kind of hosts!
We drove hard Tuesday to spend the evening in Tifton GA for dinner and a campfire with the SE RV Forum Fall rally. We met 8 couples who represent some of the Florida residents of the Forum and had a great evening. Cheapest fuel of the trip was in Valdosta GA, 258.9/gal for diesel fuel, a bargain compared to Illinois prices of 3.49 the week before.
We arrived in Tampa and RAIN! We managed to drive across the USA without seeing a cloud until the GA/FL border but it was pouring by the time we parked the m/h at the Tampa Peter O Knight Airport for the first of two aviation convention/trade shows we are attending this week and next (in Orlando).
The weather is warm and forecast to clear for the week so we are ready for shorts and sun!
