On the Road Chicago

We have been in Plainfield Illinois visiting daughter Laurie, Roger, and #1 granddaughter Payton for the past three days. The weather since we left Washington has been a beautiful Indian Summer, nothing but dry sunny days and light winds.

After leaving Spokane last week we stopped in Belgrade MT to meet new friends from the RV Forum, Jim & Pat Godward. We spent a delightful evening at the local rib eatery and their home. The Forum includes "framily" all over the county so I think we'll be making a lot of stops! This is the group we will meet in Quartzite AZ in late January.

On Monday we stopped in to visit our new "home", Alternative Resources in Sioux Falls, SD. This is our mail forwarder and will become our new legal residence in the next few months. We call to have mail forewarded to us each week os so but Monday could just pick it up.

The Midwest was experiencing Fall colors as we drove through Iowa and Illinois,. Monday evening we pulled into Lewis & Clark State Park in Onowa, IA for the night. The park is located on a man-made lake that was layover to thousands of geese headed south like us.

The past three days have been busy visiting with Laurie's family including dinner with Roger's parents, Vern and Marty Strausberger. We all have a lot in common-waiting for the baby due in early December and planning our trip south and west after Christmas as they are also RVers headed for south Texas for the winter. Being entertained by Payton makes the days fly! We also dropped more stuff off in storage to give us a little more room in the m/h.

We are leaving later this morning for Bloomington, Illinois and on to Kentucky to see old friends Ralph and Mary Davison. We have to be in Tampa Tuesday afternoon so the stop will be a short one. I am ready for some warmer temperatures!
