We are in Spokane Washington for the night on our way east to Chicago and down to Florida for two aviation trade shows that offically end Jeff's responsibilities with Twin Commander.
The past three weeks have been a blur! Our last RV rally was the weekend of the 14th-16th in Hoquiam Washington out on the coast west of Olympia. Jeff's term as President ended and goodbyes were given to a lot of great friends who RV although some we will see this winter in Arizona.
We had advertised Sue's car for sale and the first callers were a couple from nearby on Lake Goodwin where we were staying and they bought it! That was good news but meant sharing the CRV our last week in town.
The week was wild, dinners with good friends Wednesday evening, gettting the motohome serviced, last minute details (like signing up for SS), a going away pot luck Friday noon at Twin and dinner in downtown Seattle Friday night with Jim & Cheryl Matheson, Jeff's boss & his wife who have become very dear friends.
We departed Arlington around noon today after finishing up last minute errands and enjoyed beatiful fall day over the mountains and across eastern Washington. The leaves have turned at the higher elevations and yellows and browns were out. (No maple out here so very little red or orange). We stopped for dinner in Cheney Washington with Ann Heehn, a sorority sister of Sue's who moved back home to eastern Washington two years ago.
Tommorrow we plan on traveling to Butte Montana with a stop after lunch to meet Jim and Pat Godward, another couple who belong to the RV Forum. We have a little more time than the trip east this summer so the pace is not as demanding. The clear fall weather we are enjoying is forecast to follow us all the way to Illinois so we are hoping for a beautiful trip!
