We had dinner at the Prairie Schooner restaurant that has an unusual decor, a prairie landscape in the center of the eating area and small wagons that form each table. After spending the next night in Boise, ID we were on our way north to Walla Walla to spend Mother's Day with Sue's brother Gerry and his wife Garry.
Walla Walla is the site of the annual Mother's Day Balloon Stampede that featured over fifty hot air balloons from all over the US and Canada. The weather cooperated Friday and Saturday morning with calm winds and there were balloons everywhere.
On Friday morning Sue climbed the bank on the north side of the Fairway RV Resort where we were staying to watch them land in the adjacent fields. On Saturday morning she accompanied her brother and sister-in-law to watch the launch from the fairgrounds south of the city and the landing to the east of Walla Walla. On Saturday Gerry provided the expertise, tools, and most of the labor to help Jeff fabricate a set of pads to use on our chairs while traveling while Sue and Garry checked out the local shopping. We enjoyed Mother's Day Brunch with them this morning and then hit the road to Arlington for the week. We are parked at the Arlington Airport at Jeff's last employer Twin Commander Aircraft and will be visiting our friends here this week.
