Weddings and Wildflowers

We rushed from the Tecate border crossing direct to Indio, CA for Sue's nephew Chris's wedding at 6:00PM. We arrived at Outdoor Resorts at 4:15PM so were in plenty of time for the celebration. Sue's sister Polly (Mother of the groom) drove from Illinois and picked up her other sister Pat in Mesa so the three sisters were together for the first time in a couple of years so it was a great weekend! After leaving Indio Tuesday we headed for Camping World at San Marcos, CA to have our refrigerator repaired. We learned that when Camping World Mesa replaced the heating unit they failed to replace an essential part to insure proper cooling on propane gas and broke an electrical connection that gave us half the cooling capacity when using shore power. Parts had to be ordered that Jeff had installed after Sue left for Hawaii. Hopefully this will be the end of four months of dealing with this refrigerator!
While waiting for the motorhome we drove over to Oceanside for the day. As you can see the beach is endless and lots of people were out even in the cool weather and cold water of early spring. We also visited The Flower Fields on the way back to San Marcos where the spring flowers were in full bloom.

We stayed at the Mission Bay RV Park just north of downtown and next to Sea World while in San Diego. We had two days for sightseeing before Sue left for Honolulu to await our new granddaughter who is due this week. San Diego is a beautiful city and was the first settlement in California when the Spanish sent a priest and an army contingent to found a mission and fort in what is now Old Town State Park.
When Sue left Tuesday morning for Honolulu Jeff took the motorhome back to Camping World to finish up the refrigerator repairs and then up to Perris where National RV is located to have a leaking leveling jack replaced.
We toured the city via the Old Town Trolley, the same company, incidentally, that we used in Savannah last fall. Our day included stops along the waterfront, on Coronado Island at the Del Coronado Hotel, Balboa Park, and Old Town San Diego. Our time convinced us we want to come back when we have more time to city and visit the surrounding wine country.

We are still waiting for the arrival of the newest member of our family which is due any moment!
