The Cousins Gathering 2008

For the ninth time Jeff's family has held their family reunion back in Maine. The first was in 1985 and for the past twenty years or so The Gathering has been held every three years. Since our daughter Jami and her family from Hawaii couldn't make it we are the couple who traveled the furthest to attend. The Friday evening meal was lobstah and steamers, a great way to be welcomed back to the Pine Tree State!
Catching up on everyone's lives over the past three years including new grand, great grand, and great, great grand kids is always fun! The three days pasted quickly and everyone but us and Jeff's cousins Sherry pulled out by noon today. We are doing laundry, a little shopping and a dinner of fried clams tonight and will be on the road up to Caribou in northern Maine where Jeff grew up in the morning. It has been 25 years since we were there and 50 since his family moved to Illinois so we are looking forward to the visit.
