On the Shores of Puget Sound

We are in Anacortes Washington parked on the west shore of Padilla Bay at the mouth of the Swinomish Boat Channel. The Channel is the north end of the inside passage from the San Juan Islands down to Seattle. On Friday we watched everyone steaming north to the San Juans coming out of the channel and this afternoon they all returned headed south. The mountain in the distance is Mt Baker and has provided a beautiful backdrop to our scenic setting this week. We spent last week back in Arlington seeing more friends including a trip to downtown Seattle where we had lunch with Jeff's high school classmate Robin Holcolmb and his wife Annette before heading to Pike Street Market. We then came up to Anacortes to spend a few days before heading north to Whislter BC to see our daughters and their families next week. From there we will be setting out for Alaska.

We are parked at the Northern Lights Casino RV Park which is owned by the Swinomish Tribe and is located on their reservation here on Fidalgo Island. We have spent a great weekend with the Boices, DeBlicks, Goeddes, and Riddles, all RVing friends from the Seattle area.
We'll be here a couple of more days before crossing the border getting final shopping done, getting the Honda serviced, and finishing last minute details like installing protective shields on lights and radiators.
