Wrapping Up 2006

We spent the last few days in Hawaii doing typical after-Christmas returns but Jeff, Dan, and Emily spent a day visiting the North Shore when the surf was up while Sue and Jami had a day to themselves. Surfers were out from the Pipeline to Sunset Beach and having a great time! (Click on the photo to see the board under the breaker) After this it was time to say goodbye to Emy and her folks until June when we are all gathering in British Columbia for a week. Sue will also be flying to Hawaii in April in anticipation of Granddaughter #4!

This week has also been one of challenges; we had ordered a new cooling unit to replace the failed one on our refrigerator and after flying back into Phoenix at midnight got up at 6:30AM to drive over to Mesa for the work to be done. As we pulled up in front of the service bay the two techs were standing there looking at the new unit in its box shaking their heads. The coils were damaged in transit so we ended up buying a small 3.6 cu ft bar fridge that is sitting behind the copilot chair serving as a temporary replacement. On top of the frig problem Sue came down with the flu that Dan contracted just left before we left Honolulu!

We spent New Year's Eve with RVing friends from Chicago and Wisconsin who were up at Lake Pleasant Regional Park 15 miles north of Surprise watching the Bears get whipped by the Pack and were home early.

Here is the updated map showing our travels beginning at Branson MO on January 1, 2006 through today at Surprise AZ. We put just under 20,000 miles on the Tradewinds this year.
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!
