South Dakotans

We are now card carrying South Dakota residents. We spent the day in Sioux Falls getting drivers licenses, registering to vote, and getting a cracked windshield replaced. Sue still isn't convinced it wasn't more exciting to be from Seattle but the deed is done! Welcome to the land of low taxes.

We have spent the past five days parked at Sue's niece Wendy (and Tom) Buffington's in Hartland, MN, just outside Albert Lea in South Central Minnesota. Tom, his father Bob, and I spent Father's Day on the local golf course and then joined everyone for steaks to finish off the day-great weekend! We stop here east and west bound because they have a long driveway with water and electricity conveniently located for the motorhome. Tuesday morning we packed up and headed to Sioux Falls. We picked up mail, registered to vote, and figured out where we had to go Wednesday to finish up.

Wednesday afternoon we left Sioux Falls around 2:00PM and are camped along the west banks of the Missouri, across the river from Chamberlain, SD Where Lewis & Clark set up camp both westbound and on their return trip through the Dakotas. The river is quite wide and serene here so it is a great place for a campground. Dinner tonight was buffalo burgers at the Oasis Saloon to keep in character.

Tomorrow we drive over to The Badlands national park where we will spend a day and a half or so before heading for the Black Hills area for several days. This retirement can be very busy!
