We have now been sitting in one place for 20 days, a new record for us since leaving Washington last October and it has rained most of the time we have been here! We have not seen this much rain in the past 12 months and hope to keep it that way for the next 12.
While the weather isn't what we'd hoped for the past 3 weeks with the kids have been.
Sue is getting her fill of babysitting and we have enjoyed being involved with Laurie's extended family for Mother's Day and activities like attending Roger's volleyball matches. The team he coaches (Naperville North HS) is undefeated in conference play and ranked 3rd in the state at the moment. State playoffs are in two weeks so the entire family has become volleyball fans this month!
The BIG event of the month was Ella's baptism on Mother's Day.
This month has provided a few days to start catching up on all the projects we had intended to be doing since leaving Washington but haven't found the time for until now. It will be nice to plan more time for these activities as time goes on. We have boxes of family pictures waiting to be scanned, several scrapbooks planned, a family tree to research, and a golf score waiting to drop into the 90's. (Grin)
Sometime after the first of the month we will head downstate to see friends in Central Illinois and then up to Sterling on our way to South Dakota for driver's licenses and voter registration. Our new license plates arrived from Sioux Falls today so we are well on our way towards being "official" residents of South Dakota by the end of June.
