We pulled out of Quartzsite this morning after 11 great days in a place unmatched anywhere in the USA. We were with a group that were parked in the desert and ranged in size from 82 for a potluck Saturday night to 5 of us for dinner and our final campfire last night.
The week included an RV show, precious gem show, craft show, and every other thing you could imagine. They say if you can't find it in Quartzsite it doesn't exists. We also had great times meeting Mike and Linda Keller for dinner. (Mike is a HS classmate of Jeff's who live in California and spend several months a year in their RV). We also ran into other old friends Glen and Connie Dewick from Seattle and enjoyed dinner with them as well as our old neighbors Stan and Marilyn DeBlieck who joined up again for a couple of days at Quartzsite before leaving for Las Vegas.
Only in Quartzsite do you see the whole bookseller!
Add to that the great sunrises and sunsets and a pass by the International Space Station that managed to get 20 or so of us out of bed and standing around the community coffee pot that was on every morning.
The best part of the past week and a half was making new friends from all over the world and from every spectrum of our society. We all have RVing in common and love to try new places. Now we have to make plans to be in Pomona CA in late March for a Family Motorcoach Assn rally and to meet in Moab UT in early May.
