Quartzsite!

We arrived at Quartzite yesterday afternoon. As you can see it is a spot in the desert teeming with everthing you can imagine! The big tent is the center of vendors but the whole town has some thing or service to sell This week is the combined RV and Gem Show. Estimates put the number of RV's over 100,000 and visitors to Quartzite at 1,000,000 during the winter season.

At the moment there are twenty-some coaches of the RV Forum gathered about 2.5 miles south of town in the BLM La Posa Long Term Visitor's Area. We get together every afternoon at 4:00PM for a social hour and everyone discusses what is going on the next day. Today we joined a group who traveled across the Colorado River into California and off-roaded back into the hills to an abandoned gold mine. As you can see above it required four wheel drive vehicles to climb out of some of the washes. It was a 6 hour trip including stopping for lunch at an abandoned miner's cabin and was a great day!

We have friends to meet here and much to see this week.
