Thanksgiving Eve

We are spending an evening at "home" watching a Kenny Chesney special on TV. I know that doesn't sound like much but we are learning to treasure the days that are really "ours" to enjoy.

We have been in Charlotte Harbor for almost a week now with Jeff's folks and will spend Thanksgiving with them and two other couples from New England that we know. I guess our first holiday "on the road" will be New Years since Christmas is in Chicago.

We got good news today, the Honda had started shuddering when shifting into overdrive and the first prognosis was a bad transmission. Before committing themselves to replacing the tranny Charlotte Honda flushed the transmission at no charge and IT WORKED! We had the fluid replaced before leaving Seattle and the shop evidently did not use Honda fluid. WHEW!

We are staying at a great RV resort 10 miles east of Punta Gorda on the Peace River. Live Oaks has been here awhile, we stayed here 10-12 years ago when we were visiting with the kids. They stayed with the folks and we enjoyed the peace and quiet of the country. Live Oaks has a pool, hot tub, water aerobics, a 9 hole golf course, and very friendly people who spend 4-12 months a year here. We will be here another two weeks, Sue leaves on the 1st by air to be in Chicago waiting for grandbaby # 3 and Jeff follows around the 8th or 9th with a stop in North Carolina at the Freightliner factory to have the motorhome chassis serviced and looked over.

Tomorrow will be a chance to give thanks for our family and friends.
