We have had a delightful 5 days with our immediate family and the larger Cousins Clan.Picked up Jeff's folks in Vermont and had dinner with Jeff's brother Barry and sister-in-law Ann from Burlington Vermont. We left for Scarborough on Wednesday to pick up Jami, Dan and 11 month old Emily at Portland early Thursday. United left them in Chicago for 7 1/2 hours so we had a leisurely day.
Scarborough adjoins Old Orchard Beach Maine, a very old summer destination featuring a long white sandy beach and amusement park on the lower coast of Maine. OOB is just a few miles north of Kennebunkport where the Bushes have a summer home.
Jami and her sister Laurie brought husbands and daughters so we had a great group for the week. About fifty of the clan were in attendance so lots of reminiscing was the order of the day. Finished up with a "lobsta" feed Saturday night and family meeting Sunday morning.
Our kids left the two granddaughters with us Sunday morning and left early to drive one of the cars to Bar Harbor to get campsites and have a few extra hours of sightseeing.
We said our goodbyes to Jeff's folks and the rest of the Cousins and got under way for Bar Harbor around noon.
